Major victory for ilovemountains.org!

The EPA has suspended permits for mountaintop removal coal mining operations until it can evaluate their impact on our nation's streams and wetlands. It's a major first step towards ending mountaintop removal and creating a new and green economy in Appalachia. Congrats to ilovemountains!

Thanks to Fred Paris for an inspiring, uplifting and informative talk on practical alternative energy!

Join solar installation expert Fred Paris for a talk on solar possibilities for the home. Fred will offer an introduction to solar photovoltaic and small wind turbine energy systems. With a focus on both residential and commercial buildings, this session will help those considering renewable energy for their home or business or for those considering a career in renewable energy. The session will cover technology, rebates and tax incentives, and project management.Talk begins at 7pm. Suggested donation $3 members/ $5 nonmembers.

Fred's most recent projects include the photovoltaic system at Sacred Heart High School, and a unique 5000-watt pole-mounted residential system.
