350 Day/Boston Underwater

The Jones River Landing strongly supports the "350" International Day of Climate Action. We urge you to find and participate in an action on Saturday, October 24. The Day of Climate Action will spotlight the urgent need to focus the attention of the world's leaders on reducing carbon emissions to 350--a number we can live with! This event, which will culminate with an action in Copenhagen this December, during the International Climate Talks, is the concept of the organization 350.org. Participate in an action on October 24-- see the list on www.350.org. In Boston, the event is the Boston Under Water Festival, 3:00-5:30 at Christopher Columbus Park, Downtown Boston Aquarium T Stop (blue line). Wear water gear & dress in blue! Join the world in asking for 350ppm atmospheric CO2 targets at the December Copenhagen climate talks. * Race to build a sandbag wall (for the 3:50pm group photo!) * Canoe relay races * Enjoy the new waterfront: Play crab soccer, toss a beach ball! * Participatory climate theater * Find out more about climate change in Boston at the Flooding Station * Make some climate flags for your bikes and cars * Sign some cards and call your reps at the Life-Saving Station Organizers: 350.org, Greenpeace USA, JP Green House, Massachusetts Power Shift, Somerville Climate Action, Sustainable Business Network of Greater Boston, The Williams Agency Co-Sponsors: Boston Climate Action Network, Cambridge Green Decade, Greenport, Home Energy Efficiency Team, Living Structures, Inc., Massachusetts Coalition for Healthy Communities, Medford Climate Action
